As an American-Born Desi I am proud to announce the beginning of our little label… I have left the country of my birth and followed my heart back home, somehow seeking clarity in the chaos of Bombay… On my journey I have found kindred spirits in the artists I have had the grace of working with… Each of them beautiful in a way that only a god could inspire. We hope that through this music we can connect to Indians worldwide, and together create a new sound, a new culture, a new melody for modern India. We hope as we journey forward… you will join us. |

I first met deep in Chicago, way back in 2004. I never thought he was cute or anything, but he did have somehing about him. I’d say it was the smell, but I’ll save you from the “ba-da-bing” punch-lines. He seemed to know what he was doing, and seemed to be completely lost at the same time. I’ve heard the same description used to describe Albert Einstein, as well as the 14 year old weird kid who keeps peeing in his pants two houses over. I wonder if Albert Einstein ever lit a cat on fire with a magnifying glass… So… this is janina shouting out on deep’s new blog. He told me to just start writing something so here it is… “something” “Ba-Da-Bing!”

Dear xxxxx,
I was pulling out from a spot in front of my apartment, and as I glanced through narrow eye of my narrow review mirror, I looked back and I saw his car… Immediately I fell into the past while I stared frozen into the present. Did he see, did he know that it was me? Moments in motion flew past in my mind, as I white knuckle gripped the steering wheel… The hours we spent laughing on our drive to Goa…
The way we raced through traffic on the way to auditions… The night he kept me warm when I was locked out in the monsoon… Is it just where the road of life takes us, or is it a cruel fate that unmakes us? My mind races… He went left, while I went straight. pratichee |

The body draped over the horse wore her fathers boots. The man walking beside carried the same sack she saw her father pack on the day that he left.
‘Why did you bring him here?’, her mother pleaded as she fell to her knees. ‘Now he has suffered death twice…’ ‘A man carries the hope of his family with him whenever he leaves. The hope of his safe return, the hope of being reunited. What more do we have if not hope?’ Standing up she placed her hand upon her daughters shoulder, ‘Pack your things beta, we have to go…’ 725 A.D.
